A Season of New Beginnings

Every season is a new beginning.

We see it on the calendar—the first cool morning of fall, the quiet of winter, the first signs of spring, the long light of summer. Each season arrives with something different, reminding us that nothing stays exactly the same.

I think life works that way, too.

Throughout this Seasons of Life series, I’ve reflected on healing, change, joy, and growth. Each one has looked different in my own life. Some seasons have been beautiful. Others have been difficult. And many have been a little of both.

But perhaps one of the things I’ve learned most is that a new beginning doesn’t always mean starting over.

Sometimes, it simply means choosing to experience the season you’re already in differently.

After going through some difficult seasons in my own life, I’ve become determined to live them in a new way. Not by pretending the hard parts aren’t there, but by making room for joy alongside them. By practicing gratitude. By noticing the ordinary moments that might have once passed me by.

A beautiful morning. Time with the people I love. A walk outside. Something growing. Something changing. Something that makes me laugh.

Small reminders that even during a difficult season, there is still something worth savoring.

There is something revitalizing about knowing we can begin again. We don’t have to wait for January 1, a new month, a milestone, or the perfect circumstances. A new beginning can happen quietly, right where we are.

It can be a new perspective.

A new habit.

A decision to let something go.

A willingness to try again.

Or simply choosing to notice what is good today.

As I bring this Seasons of Life series to a close, I keep coming back to the idea that these seasons aren’t separate from one another. They overlap and return. Healing can lead to growth. Change can create space for joy. Growth can bring another change. And somewhere within all of them, there is always the possibility of a new beginning.

Maybe that is one of the most hopeful things about life.

There is always room for healing.
There is always room for change.
There is always room for growth.
There is always room for joy.
And there is always room to begin again.

Not every season is on the calendar. And we don’t always get to choose the season we find ourselves in.

But we can choose how we move through it.

For me, I want to keep choosing to notice the beauty, find the joy, practice gratitude, and savor what I can along the way.

Because every season—even the difficult ones—can hold the beginning of something new.

A Moment to Reflect

As you think about the season of life you’re in right now, ask yourself:

What would it look like to begin again—not by changing everything, but by choosing to experience this season in a new way?

Happy Savoring
